Our doors are open to all who seek to worship, learn and serve the community.

Services at  Temple Emanuel are a learning experience.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions.

Our goal is to broaden the understanding of Judaism.  And through better understanding, establish each individual’s relationship with G-d.  Join us!

Services at Temple Emanuel:

Erev Shabbat (Friday evening) at 6:00 pm (7:00 pm April-July) - Services are about one hour, with a little gathering afterwards.

Shabbat (Saturday) morning at 10:00 am - Shabbat morning services include the weekly Torah reading (triennial cycle).  There is a brief sermon or explanation of the weekly Torah portion.   The service is typically a little over two hours, with a kiddush  lunch following services, for those interested.

We are happy to see you: Please don't be shy and join us even if services are in progress.

We are casual:   We are only a few blocks from the beach, so dress leans towards casual. There are two requirements though:  A head covering  is required for men (optional for women) and if you are called to the Bimah, you should wear a prayer shawl (Tallit).  But don't worry if you didn't bring your head covering or prayer shawl - because we have plenty you can borrow!

We have parking:  Street parking is available during services and events.   You will most likely see a dreaded no parking sign, but if you read closely, it is enforced only after 6pm until 6am, so you can park on the street during the day.  Additionally,  as long as we have police on site (which we do), street parking , including the median, is permitted after 6pm.   There is a municipal parking garage, a block away, at 336 25th street as well.

We love kids:  Kids of all ages are always welcome!  If they need more space, we have a playroom in the back of the sanctuary to keep them busy.

We allow photography: But not during Shabbat. Please refrain from taking photos during this time.  But before and after Shabbat - feel free to click away!
